Hi WiFeed, your team is working on transforming the approach to pet feeding – could you describe what exactly that is?
For our team, transformation means adapting to the demands of modern life – fast-paced, dynamic, and often unpredictable, especially for those who care deeply for their precious pets. This is precisely where the idea for our smart feeder was born: to offer more than just functionality, but a complete shift in how pet feeding is approached.

Our feeder, with its advanced features and reliable performance, provides a solution that brings greater freedom, reassurance, and ease to pet owners’ everyday routines. At the same time, its contemporary design blends seamlessly into any home, while the choice of materials and our environmentally conscious business approach ensure minimal ecological impact.
From its design and usability to the values it embodies, WiFeed offers a solution that genuinely benefits both pets and their people.

What was the reason you set out to transform the way we feed our pets? Is there an animal friend of yours that motivated you to do this?
WiFeed was sparked by a shared passion for animals and a drive to create solutions that are not only functional but also beautifully designed.

One of our team members, Filip, often spent weekends at his countryside home, where he regularly fed a group of stray dogs. Over time, a thought kept resurfacing: Was there a way to ensure they were cared for even when he wasn’t there? Could it also be designed in a way that ensures safety for outdoor use?

That quiet reflection planted the seed for what would become WiFeed – a smart feeder envisioned to quietly fit into any space while offering reliable, thoughtful care. What started as a simple sketch grew into something more – a commitment to pets and their well-being.

WiFeed is more than a product. It’s a promise – to all pet owners trying to balance love and responsibility. A promise that your pet’s needs won’t be forgotten, even on your busiest days. That care can be constant, even when life isn’t. That technology can support connection, not replace it.

It’s a gentle kind of certainty in a hectic world – built to ease the pressure, support daily routines, and create space for more presence, more trust, and more shared moments between people and their pets.

What is the main difference, or uniqueness, of your solution relative to the competition?
At first glance, WiFeed stands out for its striking design – modern, distinctive, and adaptable to any interior style. It’s not just aesthetically appealing; it's also fully customizable to match the owner's preferences and the unique demands of any space.

But we don’t stop at appearance. What truly sets WiFeed apart is what lies beneath the surface. It’s the first smart feeder designed with materials suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. With a large-capacity food reservoir, it can nourish pets for up to 14 days without the owner's presence – ideal for those with dynamic lifestyles.

More than just a feeder, WiFeed uses artificial intelligence to analyze feeding patterns, generate detailed reports on pet behavior, and offer personalized recommendations tailored to each pet's individual needs.

How do you envision the daily life of a pet owner changing thanks to WiFeed?
We envision a daily life where pet owners stay fully present in their busy routines – without ever compromising the care their pets deserve.

WiFeed becomes the quiet, reliable partner in their day, ensuring pets are fed on time and in the right portions, even when schedules get unpredictable. Whether working late, traveling, or finally catching a rare moment to rest, pet owners remain connected and in control – remotely and effortlessly.

WiFeed learns from pets’ eating habits, offering personalized suggestions and insights that help owners better understand and support their pets’ long-term well-being. It’s more than convenience – it’s emotional relief. It replaces guilt with confidence, restores balance to hectic lives, and brings peace of mind to those who love deeply but live dynamically.

Most importantly, it frees pet owners from the mental load of constant planning and manual feeding, giving them more time to do what truly matters: simply be with their pets. More cuddles, more play, more presence.

Over time, this means healthier pets, fewer worries, and a daily rhythm where love, care, and smart technology finally move as one.

The team of innovators behind WiFeed consists of three people – Teodora, Filip and Nikola. Tell us how did you get together and who was behind the first idea for this project?
Teodora: The visionary behind this project is Filip, not only because of his creativity, but because he has a rare talent for recognizing the strengths of those around him. He built this team by trusting in the people he’s known for years, forming a bond that goes far beyond business. The three of us go way back – back to high school, where we spent four years growing up together. Filip and I shared the same classroom, the same back row desk, and more stories than we can count. Nikola was just a few doors down and soon became an inseparable part of our circle. Over the years, our friendship evolved into something even deeper. We've been through all of life’s stages side by side – through studies, transitions, successes, and challenges. What sets us apart is that we know each other better than most people ever get the chance to. We've known each other longer than many marriages last – and that history, that trust, is now the foundation of everything we’re building together.

What types of pets do you want to target with your product? I can imagine using your solution for dogs or cats, but would you also have any products for terrarium animals or small rodents?
WiFeed was originally designed as a smart feeder for dogs and cats, and its design reflects that focus. However, the concept is highly adaptable and could easily be reimagined for other types of pets, with adjustments in size and functionality to suit their specific needs. This is a direction we can envision pursuing in the future.

Our initial idea went even further – we considered the potential of WiFeed within the farm animal sector, where smart feeding solutions could bring even greater value. In this context, the feeder could become a highly desirable tool for farmers and breeders, especially when it comes to automating feeding routines and optimizing time management.

Have you already tested WiFeed with real pets? What kind of feedback have you received from early users?
The very first chance to test our feeder went, naturally, to Masha – Filip’s dog. After that, several of our friends who are also dog owners joined the testing phase, and their feedback turned out to be incredibly valuable.

The good news? Pets responded well. After just a few tries, it became clear they understood what the device offered and how it worked. It didn’t take long before they associated it with something they care deeply about – mealtime.

As for the owners, they had praise on several fronts. One of the standout comments was about the design: they appreciated that the feeder didn’t feel like just another appliance cluttering their space, but rather blended into the home like a thoughtful piece of furniture. They also highlighted the simplicity and user-friendliness of scheduling meals and
managing pet profiles through our app.

Of course, they also pointed out some important improvements we could make, like integrating a water dispenser into the same device, which would be especially useful when they're away. They also offered ideas for additional features that could further enrich the experience. These insights are invaluable, helping us shape a product that truly reflects the real needs of both pets and their people.

What expectations did you have from participating in DDAccelerator and did we manage to meet them?
What we hoped to gain from the accelerator program was clear: meaningful connections, steady mentorship, and strategic direction – things we knew our startup needed to move forward. We came in with realistic expectations: we believed the workshops would provide us with some knowledge, but we also assumed the topics might be fairly basic and not particularly engaging.

DDAccelerator exceeded every one of those expectations.

We had especially high hopes for the mentoring experience – and yet, our mentor, Vojtech Nosek, surpassed even that. His approach brought fresh insight just when we needed it most. He helped us uncover gaps we hadn’t seen, consider new possibilities, and rethink our product’s direction. But more than that, he motivated us to push harder, think deeper, and still be proud of how far we’ve already come. That, in the world of startups, is no small achievement.

The workshops and webinars were timely, relevant, and led by experts who weren’t just knowledgeable but also open to discussion. And even though we’ve participated in many similar programs before, this time we managed to learn something new in nearly every session – something practical, something we could use.

What are your next steps after the DDAccelerator – are you planning to seek investment, launch a crowdfunding campaign, start pilot sales, or something completely different?
Following our participation in the DDAccelerator program, our primary focus will shift toward securing the necessary funding. Throughout the four-month program, we gained what we needed most – clarity. Many of the questions and uncertainties that once held us back have now been resolved, giving us the confidence to move forward and focus fully on building our MVP.

‍When it comes to funding, we’re planning to pursue several paths in parallel. Crowdfunding campaigns and grant applications are at the top of our list. Additionally, considering how much this accelerator has offered us – particularly in terms of mentorship and networking – we’re determined to continue seeking out similar programs that offer not just financial support, but strategic value as well.
